Arnold Poernomo’s culinary skills are entirely self-taught. Despite being exposed to the world of cooking from an early age, he never attended a formal culinary school. But he didn’t stop there. His curiosity and passion led him to take on other roles, such as working as a barista, waiter, and bartender.
These early experiences gave him a strong foundation and helped him develop his cooking techniques. As he gained confidence and experience, Arnold’s culinary skills grew, and he eventually became the renowned chef he is today.
In 2010, Arnold returned to Indonesia, where he received an offer to work in a restaurant in South Jakarta. This move opened new opportunities for him in his culinary career. It was during this time that Arnold got his big break on Indonesian television. He appeared as a guest judge on the second season of MasterChef Indonesia in the ProChef Challenge episode.
